2020-2021 CALENDAR OF EVENTS 

We have re-envisioned our regularly scheduled events for 2020-2021

Our Rome theme, including lectures, luncheons, films, and a bus trip

will be available next year 2021-2022

 

Here’s what The Board has planned for YOU beginning November 2020!

 

All previous members will be granted FREE membership for 2020-2021!

You will also be entitled to register

FREE to most of our scheduled events from November-April 2021.

 

Register by November 1st given the Zoom Format.

Cooking Class with Giuliano Hazan, Celebrity Chef

Local celebrity chef, Giuliano Hazan (giulianohazan.com), has agreed to offer  SICE members  a virtual zoom cooking class on

Friday, December 11 beginning at 5 PM

Registration Deadline is November 1st (due to Zoom Format)

 

The menu is:  

 

Carciofi alla Romana

Whole Artichokes Braised Roman Style

 

Bucatini all’Amatriciana

Bucatini with a Spicy Tomato Sauce

 

Belga alla Moda delle Puntarelle

Belgian Endive Salad, Puntarelle Style

You may cook along with Giuliano to prepare your dinner at home or you may attend the session without cooking. The cost will be $15 per person with a maximum enrollment of 40 people. Directions, recipes and a list of ingredients to prepare will be sent to you by December  1st . 

 

Send your check  made out to SICE with the attached registration form by November 1st , if you would like to join us.   Don't forget to include your email address that will be used for the Zoom session.

Zoom Presentation                                         Wednesday, January 13, 2021 – 11 am

In its many centuries of existence, through conquestcultural, and linguistic assimilation, the Roman Empire also controlled the North African coast, the Balkans, and much of the Middle East, including parts of Mesopotamia and Arabia.  This presentation highlights the archeological sites outside of Italy in Jordan, Syria and Turkey.  Photos of these sites are included in the presentation.
