Over a forty year period between 1954 and 1994, Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni starred in thirteen films together. This output ran the gamut from hilarious romantic comedies to serious melodramas with political, religious and social overtones. Our first offering, 1954's "Pecccato Che Sia Una Canaglia" ("Too Bad She's Bad,") unveils the young Loren and Mastroianni . Fast forward ten years to the Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Film in 1964, the far more sophisticated "Ieri, Oggi e Domani" ("Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,") for arguably their most flamboyant romp. Not to be outdone, and to underscore the versatility of both Sophia and Marcello, we present 1970's "I Girasoli" ("Sunflower"). All three films reveal the cinematic savvy of one of Italy's foremost actor/directors, Vittorio DeSica. How fortunate are we to have been graced by the talents of this worthy Italian trio!
